Artist Lesley Norman visits La Mouchère from Canterbury
Among our first guests, Les and her husband, philosopher Rick Norman, spent a few days with us at La Mouchère. Inspired by the house and grounds, Les got down to work straightaway, taking a stool and artists’ materials out into the December cold, with snow still lingering on the ground. She soon found a vantage point but only showed us the result after returning to her studio to apply the finishing touches.
We like her personal style, the way she sees things, and look forward to organising more stays at La Mouchère, combining the visual arts, walks in the woods and discussions – philosophical or otherwise – around the fire.
